Festivals of Vietnamese physicists

Nearly 400 scientific reports on the works of Vietnamese physicists will be presented at the 6th National Physics Conference. The conference opened on November 23 at Hanoi University of Technology, extended. for three days, co-organized by the Vietnam Physics Association, Hanoi Institute of Materials Science and Technology University.

Nearly 600 delegates attended the National Physics Conference, including about 10 foreign delegates, mostly from Korea and Myanmar. Reports will be presented at 8 sub-committees: theoretical physics, nuclear physics, astrophysics and earth, optics and spectroscopy, solid physics, engineering physics, teaching and transmission. physics.

According to Dr. Phan Hong Khoi, Chairman of Vietnam Physics Association, in the past 5 years, Vietnam's physics has achieved many proud achievements, contributing to improving Vietnam's position in the international arena. For example, many research results, fabrication of semiconductor materials, magnetic materials, and nano-sized photonic have been published in prestigious international scientific journals. Many biosensor chips have also been developed for use in environmental research. In addition, physicists also researched and manufactured various types of thin films, adhesive male feet, laser devices .

Achieving these encouraging results is due to the efforts of physicists themselves as well as the State's concentrated investment in basic scientific research programs. Therefore, the Vietnamese physics industry currently ranks first among the three Southeast Asian countries, Thailand, Malaysia and Indonesia.

However, GS Khoi warns that if the Vietnamese physics industry stops, it will lose to those countries because their physical growth is very strong. The difficulty of the physical industry is that the equipment and financial resources are still lacking, the theory is not strongly linked to the experiment, the income of the researchers is still low .

To promote Vietnam's physics, Prof. Nguyen Van Dao, chairman of the Natural Science Council, said it was time to concentrate forces to study major issues. The period of scattered and sporadic research has passed. The Vietnamese physics industry needs to select some key directions such as nanomaterials, applied physics (boosting the application of physical achievements to production and life), training young physical staff at home and abroad, improving the quality of teaching physics in high school and university.

Regarding training, Prof. Academician Nguyen Van Hieu proposed to build excellent centers to train specialists in physics, research and physics applications. In addition, it is necessary to build modern physical subject model programs for the system of technical and technological colleges and universities .
