Found the black box of the Egyptian plane in distress

The cockpit recording device of the flight MS804 of EgyptAir has been discovered by the search force in a damaged state but can still recover data.

The Egyptian Investigation Commission said in today's statement that John Lethbridge, a dedicated vessel of the deep-sea search force of the island nation of Mauritius, picked up the black box.

"The ship's equipment is capable of recovering memory, which is considered the most important part of this recording device," Reuters reported.

The 75m long survey ship is equipped with ultrasound systems and other devices capable of detecting debris at depths up to 1.800m.

The Egyptian prosecutor was informed of the new move and ordered the black box to be handed over to Egypt's investigation team for analysis.

The black box is being transferred from the John Lethbridge ship to the coastal city of Alexandria, where representatives from the prosecution and investigators are waiting to receive it.

The remaining black box of the aircraft has not been found yet.
