China's Xinhua News Agency reported that New Zealand's bird appraisal committee confirmed the sign near Reefton town. As a result, the organism classification system has also adjusted extinct to high-risk South Island kokako , based on signs of seeing them near Reefton and 10 other sighted announcements.
UPI news agency quoted Kevin Hackwell, forest conservation agency manager and bird, said the last time South Island kokako was seen in 2007, it was concluded they were extinct. But recent signs are good news for this bird. Since the 14th century, statistics show that New Zealand has lost 50 birds.
South Island kokako is a gray-haired bird, whose eyes have dark halo, long tail but short wings, under the face there is an orange feather. They have strong legs that make it easy to run through the forest.
