Goats like those who are smiling with them

The goat is a wiser animal than we thought.

As an animal lover, sometimes strange thoughts come to mind like: How to become a friend of a goat?

The answer is, similar to people, smile at goats to make a good impression on them from the first meeting. According to a study published in Royal Society Open Science, goats not only recognize the happy expressions on their faces, but they are also attracted by cordiality.

In this study, a team of scientists at Queen Mary University London selected 20 goats, 12 males and 8 females at Buttercups for Goats reserve in Kent. They are driven into areas with black-and-white photos, showing the faces of happy or angry people.

Most goats are attracted to smiling faces, they huddle and even rub their heads and noses into the picture. Doing this test over and over again, scientists have proven that goats have positive emotions with things that show happiness, such as smiles.

In fact, there are some animals that are very good at recognizing people's emotions. In a study from 2015, dogs were taught to recognize a person who was happy or angry, though only a half-face photo was seen.

Although not a pet close to family members like dogs or cats, the small goat study has shown their potential for emotional recognition. The next time you cross the street and see a goat, smile, don't scold, it will hurt.
