Goats for milk like human milk

Russian goats will give us human milk. It is a group of Russian goats being raised and bred on a farm in the village of Golsovo in the Sakhovsky region.

The herd of goats for human milk is the result of BelRosTrans project. They are made by grafting human genes with specific DNA fragments, controlling the production of human milk into the body of native goats. They gave the first generation to do wonders: milking goats milk into human milk.

Goats carry human genes.

For more than five years, Russian and Belarusian scientists have begun to study how to obtain goat milk containing lactoferin. This substance is always present in human milk, which protects babies from bacterial and viral infections during the time when children cannot create their own immunity.

One of the project authors, geneticist Igor Goldman, said: "Babies who are breastfed are always able to resist high levels of disease, while raising them with 'industrial milk' does not. Their mortality rates are much higher than those fed by their mothers'.

It is no coincidence that experts have chosen goats as 'suppliers' of human milk, more precisely, milk contains proteins in human milk. The reason is because this animal is less susceptible to disease and their milk has a nutritional composition quite similar to human milk. Moreover, goat's milk is not allergic to children.

Before 'transplanting' human genes for goats, people have experimented on mice. After successfully performing over 6,000 mice in the labs, biologists came to the conclusion that the ability to give human milk in them can be inherited by both male and female mice after 10 generations. , expressed in 50% experiment.

Head of the Gene Graft Laboratory at the Biological Institute of Russia Institute of Science Elena Sadnikova affirmed: 'The protein we obtained from the transgenic animals' milk is an absolute way of human milk'.

However, there are many other ideas. Some Russian immunologists and allergens do not believe this. For example, Iuri Smolkin, director of the Russian Institute of Allergy and Immunization Counseling Center, still wonders: "Cattle milk cannot replace human milk. The only thing that can be done is to bring out the benefits . New formulation based on the old formula with added lactoferin '.

Currently, lactoferin extracted from goat milk is being used to manufacture pharmaceuticals. Human proteins have a very broad therapeutic capacity. They can be used in blood and gastrointestinal medications.
