Scientists in Vietnam probably know Dr. Nguyen Chanh Khe, the first person to successfully build liquid Nano coal in Vietnam. Currently, with the application of Nano technology, he has released a new product that is fuel cell (also known as energy battery), can be used to run motorcycles, cars . instead of for fuel oil.

The first energy batteries produced by Nano technology. The structure of the battery is also quite simple, including shells, additives, catalytic electrodes and a completely new material in the world that is the proton conductive membrane.

Dr. Nguyen Chanh Khe, director of the Ho Chi Minh City Hi-tech Research and Development Center, said that when the fuel enters the catalyst, creates electrons and at the same time creates protons. Without a proton-conducting membrane, recombinant electrons and protons lose power. Therefore, there must be a very good proton conductor material so that when the pair and the proton are generated, it will be separated immediately. The best point is that we have created a new proton material in the world.

Unlike energy batteries made in many other countries, they use thermal energy from 80 to 1,000 degrees Celsius to operate. Here, only the proton membrane is wet enough that the battery can run, so the main material for the battery to work is water. Therefore, batteries do not need to be charged and absolutely do not pollute. On the other hand, due to the use of 100% domestic materials, the price is hundreds of times cheaper than products made from foreign countries.

According to Dr. Nguyen Chanh Khe, in the near future, fuel cells will be used in place of petroleum in many fields.

Dr. Nguyen Chanh Khe, director of the Ho Chi Minh City Hi-tech Research and Development Center, said the first thing he thought about the easiest to do and could produce the earliest application was the fuel cell battery. run a motorbike, light up with lab lights with high light intensity or can give a car or can make small generators running indoors when the power goes out. He will try to create a battery that always has an internal liquid probe, when the battery is nearly dry automatically supplying it. Therefore, we don't have to go to the station to exchange batteries like the World does.

In the world, fuel cells have been studied for a long time but are not really popular because the price is too high, about 1,000 USD for 1 Kw of electricity, while also to create such a power source, the fuel cost is only 400 USD.

The successful manufacture of fuel cells opens a new development direction for our country's energy industry, in the hope that, one day not far from the street, there will be no more smoke and people will be less anxious whenever the fuel is up. price.
