Assoc. Dr. Doan Huy Hau, Chairman of the Department of Military Epidemiology (Military Medical Academy) said that this injection aims to focus on assessing and quantifying antibodies of vaccinated people. Earlier, April 19, the first test of the H5N1 vaccine was conducted on these volunteers.

After 28 days of follow-up, all 30 people received the first shot, initially ensuring safety, achieving the results set by the research team. These people, after the second injection, will continue to be monitored for the next 28 days to quantify and evaluate the antibody production of each person after the injection.

If the results are good, the research team will report and consult with the Ministry of Health to conduct a second phase trial injection in a wider group (about 240 people are expected).

Earlier, April 19, at the Military Medical Academy, 30 volunteers were given the first injection of the H5N1 vaccine produced by Vietnam, at a dose of 1ml / dose.

The H5N1 vaccine must meet the standards for use by new licensees and officially put into production.

It is expected that by the end of 2009, the H5N1 vaccine by the vaccine company and the No. 1 biological product will be born. The vaccine is called Fluvax, the ex-factory price is only VND30,000 / dose, the price for the vaccination service is over VND40,000 / dose. The H5N1 vaccine was studied by scientists at the National Institute of Hygiene and Epidemiology starting in 2004.
