Picture 1 of No vaccine against H5N1 has been detected in Vietnam A H5N1 strain of resistant to all vaccines was discovered in Chinese poultry, potentially causing a new pandemic. In Vietnam, Deputy Minister of Health Trinh Quan Huan said the strain has not yet appeared because H5N1 vaccine still works well in poultry.

Vice Minister Huan said the virus is called the " Fujian virus " - where it was first isolated last year. Fujian virus was discovered in poultry in many other Chinese provinces. Scientists say they show signs of resistance to vaccines that the country has used to vaccinate poultry and could be the culprit of the rapid spread of bird flu in China. Fujian virus is also worried that it will cause a major outbreak in the world.

Dr. Trinh Quan Huan, Deputy Minister of Health, affirmed that the virus strain has not yet appeared in Vietnam, as evidenced by the fact that 100 million poultry vaccinated with H5N1 vaccine in the past time still have a good immune response. However, in order to prevent the risk of Fujian virus as well as other influenza-causing pathogens spreading into Vietnam, the Government has instructed to suspend the import of poultry and poultry products from countries with outbreaks.

Huan also said that on November 1, Vietnam signed a memorandum of understanding with nearly 20 representatives of embassies and international organizations. Countries, these organizations are committed to finding more funding for Vietnam to prevent bird flu. Recently, the Government of Vietnam has spent nearly 100 million USD for this work.
