Issue new guidelines for diagnosis and prevention of infection with influenza A (H5N1) in humans
The Ministry of Health has issued new guidelines on diagnosis, management and prevention of influenza A (H5N1) infection in humans. This document replaces guidelines for diagnosis, management and prevention of viral pneumonia infection, issued on 11-11-2005.
Accordingly, influenza A (H5N1) is acute and there are some manifestations such as fever over 38oC, respiratory symptoms (Photo: Nhandan) such as dry cough or sputum, chest tightness, rapid breathing, cyanosis ., may have rashes when hearing the lungs, rapid changes to respiratory failure, tachycardia, blood pressure, shock . Other symptoms may occur such as headache, muscle pain, diarrhea, multi-organ failure.
The epidemiological factors for diagnosis of patients suspected of having influenza A are living in areas with avian influenza within two weeks, close contact with sick poultry and patients with suspected or confirmed influenza A (H5N1).
The guideline also regulates the route of treatment for influenza A (H5N1). Among them, 13 central treatment facilities were designated as National Institute of Infectious and Tropical Diseases, Bach Mai Hospital, Central Pediatrics, Hue Central Hospital, three 108, 103 175 military hospitals. and four hospitals for Tropical Diseases, Children 1, Children 2, People 115 of Ho Chi Minh City.
In particular, the guidance also details the treatment of influenza A (H5N1) for children, such as managing respiratory distress and resuscitation of multiple organ failure in children to minimize mortality and sequelae for children.
