Japan produces self-propelled robots instead of medical trolleys
Japanese scientists have successfully created a self-propelled robot that can replace traditional medical stretcher in hospitals.
Self-propelled robots replace medical carts
Research team at Toyohashi University of Technology, Japan is developing a robot that can move in all directions called Terapio . It is capable of replacing the functions of a traditional medical stroller, specializing in transporting instruments, medical supplies to doctors, nurses.

According to Gizmag, when accompanied by medical staff, Terapio operation mode Tracing (Human-Tracking mode). Terapio follows behind the staff it is assigned to help and actively avoid obstacles.
To control the location of Terapio more accurately, the user can move it manually via the Mode Control (Power-Assist mode). In this case, the employee pushes the handle over the robot over the handle. It will move in the direction that person desires.
In round mode, Terapio records vital patient status information, stores information and displays them on the LCD touch screen. During unused time, Terapio will gather at a battery charging station, updating the software through a connection to the server.
