Lock opened with phone

With this kind of lock, you will never have to carry a bunch of heavy keys. Instead, you just need a phone, and don't even need to pull it out of your pocket.

You can also set the auto-opening mode for friends or employees.

This type of lock is named August , developed by an American company, priced at $ 199. August lock is made of high-strength aluminum and can be attached to the existing submersible locks of the door within 10 minutes. This means the landlord can still open the door by using the key as usual. It runs on 2 AA batteries and will signal to the landlord when the battery is low. Once installed and activated, the August key can be controlled online via a mobile application.

It works with any smartphone with bluetooth, but the control application only runs on iOS and Android operating systems. It encrypts the device with very high technology, encryption is unique and cannot be copied. To unlock August, the person has the code near the door, turn on the bluetooth on the phone and click the open button on the application.

The lock will take a few seconds to scan, and then confirm the identity of the person opening the door. The circle of small red lights around the lock will turn green and the August lock will automatically rotate to open. The owner can also use the key if you forget your phone or want to save battery power.

In order to help other family members or friends also open the door without a key, the landlord must send an invitation via Facebook or via a phone book. The invitation may be valid, the word 'within 1 hour' to 'always' , and the landlord may withdraw the invitation at any time. When anyone enters or leaves the house, August course will send a note to the landlord. The lock will lock automatically after 10 seconds to ensure safety. This means the landlord can know exactly how long the cleaner is in the house.

August is the product of technology entrepreneur Jason Johnson and industrial designer Yves Behar. Both took a full year to research and develop this type of lock, and plan to sell it to the market later this year.
