Mysterious 3,200 years ago in Egyptian literature and the Bible
According to British scientists, there is a strange interference between Egyptian and Old Testament stone records of the total solar eclipse.
"Sun, stand still in Gibeon; and the Moon, in the Aijalon valley. The Sun stands still, and the Moon stops, until the people report their return to the enemy" - that's a prayer. Joshua's when he led the Israelites into Canaan recorded in the Old Testament.

The research group at Cambridge University (UK) determined that the sutra was actually one of the first scientific records of the human race about the total eclipse of October 30, 1207 BC. .
Professor Colin Humphreys, the head of the study, said that in the past, people used to rely on James's Bible translation in 1611 in English and only knew that the sun and moon stopped. However, when the research team searched for the original Jewish text, they realized that this passage actually depicts the light that stops radiating when the sun and the moon stop. It is a solar eclipse.
The description of the sun and moon "stands still" in line with the Babylonian description, when they recorded the solar eclipse in March 721 BC.
Another ancient record of this eclipse was found on a large carved granite block in the fifth year of the Merneptah dynasty, referring to a campaign in Canaan, when the pharaoh defeated the Israelites. In it, a mysterious eclipse-like phenomenon is also described.
According to records, the pharaoh's reign began in 1210 or 1209 BC, 2-3 years before the eclipse event described in the Bible. So in terms of time, the data on this slab is very reasonable.
Previous studies have also debated the timeline of people actually observing and recording eclipses . One study suggested that stone etchings at Loughcrew, Co Meath, Ireland are about the 5,000 solar eclipse before. Meanwhile, Greek astronomer Ptolemy announced that the first solar eclipse was observed by Babylonians in March 721 BC.
However, research has just announced that the first data has a match between two highly reliable ancient documents, which belonged to those at the two fronts of the time. The report was published in Astronomy & Geophysics magazine of the Royal Astronomical Society.
