Neptune has a blue sky like Earth
A group of American researchers discovered the sky of an extrasolar planet from light 100 years from Earth.
The planet has a blue sky like Earth
According to IFL Science, the planet named GJ 3470b is the size of Neptune, the smallest planet affected by Rayleigh scattering effect . It is this effect that contributes to the blue sky on Earth.
Through the Global Telescope Network of Las Cumbres Observatory (LCOGT) at the University of California, USA, astronomers observe the light emitted from GJ 3470b's microscopic molecules and notice these molecules release more blue light.

However, the blue sky does not mean the same atmosphere as us. According to research published in the Astrophysical Journal on November 20, GJ 3470b's atmosphere consists mostly of hydrogen / helium gas with clouds and overhead mist. The researchers say the planet is more likely to have a molecule rich in water and methane, but they are not sure the observations in the light spectrum actually exist.
The team is planning to continue observing to determine GJ 3470b's atmospheric composition more accurately. They will monitor the planet with infrared telescopes, allowing to assess the existence of water and methane gas.
GJ 3470b revolves around a red dwarf that is half as big as the Sun. The star has a surface temperature of about 3,300 ° C and orbits around the star of GJ 3470b that lasts for three days on Earth. Because of its proximity to the mother star, the planet is quite hot and is considered a warm version of Hai Vuong Tinh.
