Dropping a robot onto the surface of the planet or the moon is not easy, and this has been demonstrated through NASA's Mars response missions.
In an effort to simplify the process of sending autonomous vehicles to celestial bodies, NASA's engineering team is studying the 'Super Ball Bot' device, a type of self-propelled device Compact and very flexible.
According to Red Orbit, information from NASA, Super Ball Bot can be released from a height of 97km, no need airbags, airbags or rockets can still safely meet on the surface of a given object.
After answering, the self-propelled device will start exploring the surface of the planet by changing the shape of the outer frame, allowing robots to move across many types of terrain.
NASA scientists plan to use the new generation self-propelled device in the mission to explore Saturn's largest Titan , moon.
