New method of early identification of H5N1 variant
H5N1 influenza virus in birds (Photo: scidev) Japanese researchers have found a new way to identify early variants of avian influenza viruses that can be transmitted from human to human.
The new method produces 50 times more accurate results than previously applied methods and only takes 15 minutes.
Japanese scientists have found a substance that is known in the process of virus penetration. Because the substances are different in humans and poultry, scientists can determine the variation of H5N1 virus.
The H5N1 virus, which is inherently difficult to infect humans, but people are concerned about in the process of infection many times, this virus can be transformed into a new strain easily spread from person to person.
