October 1582 calendar with 10 days does not exist
Few would have expected that 10 days in October of 1582 did not exist in history. Why?
The Gregorian calendar was a new calendar set by Pope Gregory XIII in 1582. It was the application of this calendar that some October 1582 days were ignored in some countries such as Italy, Poland, and Spain. Nha and Portugal.

Before 1582, Europeans and colonies used a calendar based on the Julian calendar given by Emperor Julius Caesar in 46 BC. Accordingly, one year has 365.25 days. But the length of the solar year is 365, 242216 days, so the Julius calendar is about 0.0078 days longer in a year, ie about 11 minutes 14 seconds. To make up for the difference between the calendar year and the sun's cycle, every 3 years must be spent for every leap year. By 1582, the difference was up to 10 days.
Pope Gregory XIII decided to give up 10 days in October of that year to make the calendar and crops fit together again.Accordingly after October 4, 1582, the following day is October 15, 1582. Thus, in the first countries to adopt the Gregorian calendar, October 7, 1582 along with 9 other days no longer exist. And to avoid repeating the difference, this new calendar takes the leap year as the year with a divisor number for 4 (such as 1964, 1980, 2004, .) and the last years equal to 00 must be divisible by 400 it is a leap year (the year 2000 is divided between 4 and 400 so it is a leap year, the years 1700 1800 and 1900 are divisible by 4 but not divisible by 400, so it is not a leap year .).

However, due to delayed information and religious reasons, many countries did not apply the Gregorian calendar immediately afterwards. England (and the United States at the time of British colonial rule) until 1752 was on this calendar, and at that time had to spend 11 days in the calendar (so George Washington was born on February 11, 1731, but the United States celebrated His birthday is on February 22nd. Russia only follows this calendar after 1917, so the Russian October Revolution took place in November of the calendar.
Today, the Gregorian calendar is used not only in Christian countries in Europe but also worldwide. However, we will not have the opportunity to write about the events that took place from 5 to 14 October 1582 due to this change.
