2.402 Americans died, dozens of wrecked or damaged ships and hundreds of aircraft were destroyed as a result of the disastrous battle in Pearl Harbor in 1941.

On the morning of December 7, 1941, Japan suddenly launched a battle aimed at the US Navy base in Pearl Harbor in Hawaii. The element of surprise and the mighty attacks caused the American side to suffer severe consequences even though they had not officially participated in World War II. The attack pushed the United States into a war against the Nazis and allies.

Air defense system on Ford Island.Despite taking the initiative, Japan still lost 29 fighters because of the US air defense system.However, the damage that the US Navy suffered was much higher with 188 destroyed aircraft and 155 damaged.

Control tower is located on Ford Island.This work survives through the attack and continues to be used today.Currently, it is converted to an aviation library.

Battleship USS Arizona (BB 39) caught on fire from Ford Island.Of the four warships sunk, the US Navy salvaged two for repairs.The other two were too badly damaged, so they still rested in the sea.
