Fish Payara, aka vampire fish, scientific name Hydrolycus scomberoides, is a freshwater predatory fish.

They are found in the Amazon basin, the eastern border of its distribution range is the Tapajó River. It is the first species to be described in four species of Hydrolycus genus.

This fish has two long fangs protruding from its lower jaw. Canines may be 4 to 6 inches long. Vampire fish can reach 1.17m (3.8 ft) in length and 17.8kg (39 lb) in volume, although many people think it is only 30cm.

With aggression and weird teeth, Payara fish is one of the world's most dangerous freshwater fishes.
