Perspective on robots

Scientists speak out strongly about the use of self-controlled, especially military-controlled machinery systems. Robotics experts warn that mass use can lead to negative effects, such as in the monitoring industry and the care of the elderly.Debates took place before the opening of the Dana Center, a branch of the London Science Museum. They argue that the debate about the role of robotics in the future is less known to the public. Automated robot systems are able to make decisions without waiting for human intervention. A simple level can be a vacuum cleaner that moves itself from one room to another and finds itself charging when the battery runs out.
Recently there are more automated systems designed for military use. Samsung, for example, has researched and built a sensor robot to guard the boundary between South Korea and North Korea. The system was installed with two cameras and a machine gun.
The development process of the robot controller itself brings many difficult questions.
In the future, robots can demand the same rights as humans (Photo: BBC)
"If robots kill people, who will be guilty?" - Professor Alan Winfield from West England University asked questions.
"Right now the responsibility lies between the designer and the operator, but if later when the automatic robot is at a higher level, the boundaries of those responsibilities will be very fuzzy" - He said.
Some other opinions are concerned about the possibility of defense robots being used in civilian.
"You can imagine a demonstration facing a robots armed with water splashes, which is sure to happen." - Professor Noel Sharkey from Sheffield University followed.
In December 2006, the British Ministry of Science and Innovation produced a document that addressed robots' " rights ".
In the 246 pages of the Dream or Rise of the Machines Utopian file, it is said that one day a robot can claim citizenship as a human being, including the right to housing and "health".
But Professor Winfield thinks that it is more important to see how much society can trust robots to delegate certain tasks to self-propelled robots. Professor Sharkey gave an example of a vision of old people crammed into hospitals by robots to reduce costs.
