Research by three scientists focused on explaining the question "how does the brain map about the space around us, and how can we navigate in a complex environment" .

"These discoveries have solved a problem that has been the subject of research by many philosophers and scientists for centuries," the Nobel Committee's notice said.

According to Reuters, the three scientists will receive a prize of $ 1.1 million from the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences. As a rule, only up to three people share a Nobel prize.

Since 1901, there have been 104 Nobel Prize in Medicine awarded to scientists around the world.

After this award, Nobel Prizes in the field of Physics, Chemistry, Literature, Peace and Economy will continue to be handed over from tomorrow to October 13.
