Postpone deploying a solar panel on the international space station

On October 30, a long tear was discovered on a solar panel battery being opened by ISS station astronauts. It happened when two space shuttle astronauts Discovery just finished their third space walk.

The opening of this energy plate is stopped immediately. At that time, the energy battery opened 27.4m on its total length of 35m. Astronauts are walking in the projection space shooting down cracks for NASA engineers.

At the request of the Mission Control Agency, astronauts retract some of the solar energy wings that are torn to reduce stress on them. The ISS planning manager, Mike Suffredini, said the system has enough operating power and engineers are considering solutions.

The torn solar energy can still work, but NASA worries that the energy wings that cannot be opened can pose a structural problem. Prior to discovering the problem in the solar wing, NASA added a day to Discovery's mission to examine the problem in the spin joint discovered during a second space walk.

Mr. Suffredini showed signs that NASA will be able to add 2 more days to Discovery mission if the latest issue is serious.
