SpaceX spokesperson Kirstin Grantham said: 'In preparation for the upcoming launch, SpaceX is conducting comprehensive tests. SpaceX is currently working with NASA to set a new launch date for ISS '.

The Dragon is expected to fly 2 miles away from ISS to check the entire system of the station. It will then get closer to the station astronauts using the robotic arm to pull back, access the ISS and deliver supplies. Eventually the ship will be released and dropped into the Pacific Ocean.

SpaceX is currently one of many companies racing to obtain the right to dock at ISS. The company hopes to make flights for astronauts to ISS in three years. At present, the United States still has to travel thanks to the spacecraft using Russian Soyuz boosters.

SpaceX aims to bring supplies to ISS in the future, then bring people up in 2014.
