According to NASA employee Bill Gerstenmaier, it was originally intended for SpaceX to enter space on April 30, 2012. However, SpaceX may be on the road 1 week earlier. Astronauts on ISS will use robotic arms to help this spacecraft mount safely to the ISS.
The Dragon compartment will provide 521kg of goods to laboratories on ISS and collect 660kg of waste.
SpaceX is owned by businessman Elon Musk, who co-founded the famous PayPal business website on the internet. The Dragon space capsule from SpaceX was first introduced in December 2010.
Dragon used to "rehearse" with space cargo ships managed by Japan and EU in low orbit. It was also twice tested by the Falcon 9 rocket to orbit and back to earth.
