Producing adhesives from ... fly ash

Fly ash (fly-ash), a kind of dust from burning coal of energy production industries used by students Dang Van Tuan, Ho Chi Minh City Polytechnic University to create new binders to replace cement in construction. The production of this substance helps cheaper concrete prices and limits environmental pollution.

Currently, only in Vietnam, the amount of fly ash released by the energy production industry (electricity, oil .) is about 600,000 tons a year. Fly ash is a type of dust collected in the exhaust sector of the energy industry and has not been reproduced, so it is very harmful to the environment.

Dang Van Tuan and his friends in construction materials and components, Faculty of Civil Engineering, Polytechnic University have used fly ash to mix with some other additives to produce adhesives like cement. The team tried to soak this binder in a concentrated concentration of 10% acid HCl and H 2 SO 4, but much less corrosive than conventional cement. If producing concrete with this adhesive, the price will be cheaper than concrete from cement.
