Robot now knows the 'gatekeepers': Keep the door open
of Boston Dynamics has now learned how to open (and keep) doors like a real one.
Today, the SoftBank whore's production department posted a video of SpotMini, an upgraded version of the four-legged robot that was introduced in November last year, and this time it learned how to open (and keep) The door is no different from a real one.
The 4-legged SpotMini robot is now back and ... a lot more rustic.
Perhaps this is the most remarkable upgrade of the robot version from Boston Dynamics. SpotMini 4-legged robots are now back and ... much more old-fashioned, as they not only open the door, but learn to keep the door, giving way to each other at the same time.
In the video above, we can see a SpotMini that locates itself, recognizes the door handle to open and then holds the door to another robot passing through. Certainly this is a more sophisticated and programmatic action than the passing of the door as before.
Of course, our instinct to see robots that behave like humans and animals is fear, but it must be acknowledged that scientists can program it to open the door with hand grips. As such, the video is very impressive (Not surprisingly, SoftBank bought Boston Dynamics from Alphabet for over $ 100 million.)
