Roome - Smart light controlled by hand operation
Smart lights that recognize human activity to turn on / off automatically are not uncommon, however, the lights controlled by gestures and manipulations like Roome have not appeared much. According to the inventor, Roome is the first lamp that allows users to use hand gestures / gestures to control light intensity, turn on / off the light.
Following that, inside Roome integrated several necessary sensors such as infrared sensors, light sensors and sounds, sensors that detected electromagnetic waves from human bodies, all helped Roome to know when Any light should be turned on, when to turn it off to save electricity. For example, when you go home from work, opening a door makes a loud noise or is near a light bulb, it will automatically glow. When you leave, Roome will know by himself to turn it off to save electricity.
When we sleep, Roome will know that there isn't any nearby activity so soften the light and then slowly turn off.
The same thing as when we slept, Roome would know there wasn't any activity nearby and thus soften the light and then slowly turn off, when you wake up, sit up, Roome will feel the movement and light up . Of course, this process in the beginning will encounter many shortcomings - for example, if you turn around it can turn on, now requires you to turn off by hand - but after a while , Roome will automatically learn from the master's habit of adjusting the light to a reasonable level.
Returning to the control / gesture control mechanism, to use the brightness to adjust the hand and turn on / off Roome, we first have to place the hand on top of the lamp (a distance away). After about 1s to 2s for Roome to recognize the user's hand, you can then raise your hand up to increase the brightness, or lower it to reduce the brightness. When finding the right light intensity, keep your hand in that position for 1s to 2s to confirm, then remove it. In case we sweep the hand to the left and right, the lamp will turn on / off respectively.
There are two USB ports on Roome for convenient charging of smartphones / tablets
The inventor also said Roome 20 LED bulbs with flicker-free technology (eliminating flashing light to help users not get eyestrain when reading books), with maximum brightness of 800LM, light temperature 5200K. There are two USB ports on Roome for convenient smartphone / tablet charging, it also has WiFi connection to interact with specialized applications on smartphones.
Currently Roome is a fundraising project on Kickstarter and it has been successful, just waiting for production. To order Roome in this period, you have to pay from $ 59, not including shipping fees, delivery time is expected in August this year.
