Russia takes astronaut robots into space
The Fyodor robot has a human-like appearance made to perform dangerous missions in space to replace astronauts.

The Russian state press on 172 said a prototype of the robot is being tested at the Russian government's military science and technology agency. It can now perform several tasks like driving or welding.
In the future, it will have enough intelligence and computing power to do many different things completely automatically.
Russian Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Rogozin said they were planning to bring the robot to the International Space Station (ISS) to do dangerous missions for astronauts. Compared to humans, it has many advantages: it can operate in a dangerous environment, is more powerful than humans and does not need sleep.
"It has no" human factor ": is not distracted, is not sick, has no emotions and is always focused on tasks , " said Sergey Khurs, head of the program Savior robot.
Its working time is not limited. If astronauts can only walk 8-9 hours in space to conduct ISS research or repair, robots can do this for days, weeks or even months.
