The super city covers an area of about 26,500 km2, funded by the government and private investors. Neom is expected to be the bridge between Jordan and Egypt, which will expand the Saudi economy and reduce its dependence on oil exports. The city will also focus on developing many industries such as energy and water, food, biotechnology, smart manufacturing and entertainment.

This project can make Neom one of the largest cities in the world to operate entirely with renewable energy. Currently, there are cities in the US that do not use fossil fuels such as Burlington, Vermont but cannot be as large as Neom.

As expected, the first part of the city of Neom will be completed by 2025.
