US abandoned a billion USD to build 'ghost city'

The modern city is being built in the southern desert of New Mexico, USA, at a cost of one billion USD and not a place for people.

America built the city in the desert to study science

With a capacity of 35,000 people, the city will include a modern commercial center area and adjacent blocks of suburbs, beside streets, parks, supermarkets and churches. However, this is a "ghost city" because it has no shadow.

CNN on October 6 reported that the CITE project (Center for Initiative, Testing and Evaluation) is the full model of a common American city. However, it is used to develop new technologies that can shape the future of cities.

With an investment of one billion USD, the project is headed by telecommunications and technology company Pegasus Global Holdings, enabling ambitious experiments in the areas of transportation, construction, communication and security in the field. 13 km2 area.

CITE will include specialized areas for developing new agricultural, energy and water treatment models. The underground data collection network will provide detailed, real-time feedback.

"Our goal is to create an environment where new products, services and technologies can be exhibited and tested without affecting daily life , " CNN quoted Robert Brumley, director. operating Pegasus.

Thanks to no need to worry about people, the ability to experiment at CITE is endless . Unmanned cars can be used on the street and monitored from above by traffic control aircraft. Homes can be designed to survive natural disasters and install automatic equipment. Alternative energy sources such as Thorium nuclear materials can be tested on a large scale.

"You can bring new initiatives to test, break and learn the results. The city will become a magnet for people with ideas to interact," Brumley said.

Brumley describes CITE as an intermediate step between laboratory technology testing and introducing it to the public. He believes the process will bring more products to market launch.

"The US spends billions of dollars on research and earns 2-3% profit from commercial products. This facility can expand and increase profits, " Brumley said.
