Sea snakes know how to make the same head and tail

A very poisonous sea snake that repels predators by a trick of making predators that their tail is their head, according to Marine Ecology on August 6.

Although very poisonous, the yellow sea snake is vulnerable to attack while finding food that the tail reveals. But it makes sharks, carnivorous fish and birds afraid with twisted tails, making the tail look like the head, which can be recognized by black and yellow streaks. Even sharks are afraid of sea snake heads because sea snakes belong to one of the highly poisonous snakes.

This discovery was discovered by Danish naturalist Arne Rasmussen on a diving trip off the island of Bunaken in Indonesia. While watching a sea serpent, he was surprised to see its ' head ' darting toward him while the tail scoured the coral . Dr. Rasmussen of the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts, Conservation School in Copenhagen, only found himself wrong when his real head emerged.

Later studies, where 98 sea serpents in museums in Paris (France), Berlin (Germany) and Copenhagen (Denmark) and wild sea snakes in Solomon Islands confirmed the discovery. All have distinctly long black bands at the tip and tip of the tail, as well as a darker horseshoe shape than those on the body.

Other sea snakes - such as thick-tailed sea snakes, Persian Gulf sea snakes . can also use this tip, according to Rasmussen. All have the same spots on the head and the tail.

There are more than 65 species of sea snakes living in the tropical waters of the Southern Hemisphere, and all are very poisonous.
