Secret inside the skull of the mummy of the 19th century
Italian scientists analyzed, took CT scans of nineteenth-century mummies at the mummy museum, and found many secrets regarding the mummification of this period.
These mummies were preserved by anatomist Giovan Battista Rini (1795-1856) preserved by "petrification" by bathing mummies in a mixture of mercury and other heavy metals.
The mummies and mummies from the 1800s in different states are preparing CT scans at a hospital near Salò, Italy.
The bizarre head of a 19th-century woman with fake eyes and long hair.
This is the head of a mummy who still has fresh blood vessels. The new study says the mummy is preserved by soaking in a chemical bath and injecting mercury and other minerals into body tissue.
CT scans showed a clear picture of the cut of the mummy cortex. Through analysis, scientists found a large amount of mercury in parts of the mummy. There are also potassium, iron, barium and arsenic.
And this is the mummy's head over 150 years old. Unlike mummies by petrifying using minerals, this mummy tissue cell is filled with polymers.
