Sewing penguin swimwear
It sounds funny, but experts at the California Academy of Sciences have been serious about creating a swimsuit for an African penguin, helping it back down.
Pierre, an old 25-year-old penguin, is losing his hair, leaving many spots exposed to the pink-pink skin.
Unlike marine mammals that have a fat layer to keep the body warm, penguins can only rely on their waterproof fur. Without this coat, Pierre was reluctant to go to the lake for himself and go ashore in a state of shivering from the cold.
" It's cold and trembling, " said Pam Schaller, a senior Marine biologist. Pierre's species used to live in a temperate climate, different from many of their relatives. Schaller's group came up with the idea of making a swimsuit, helping to keep the animal warm.

" We are really interested in this. We know that most penguins can only live up to 20 years old, and this little animal has lived 25 years. Everything we can do to help it, We are all ready, "said Teo Tertel, an expert at Oceanic Worldwide, a supplier of diving equipment.
The suit with velcro on his back, hugged Pierre's body and had small holes for the animal's flippers to pass through. What people are worried about is that their fellow humans will scare off the animal in new clothes, but in reality that has not happened.
Since wearing the swimsuit 6 weeks ago, Pierre has gained weight, grew hair back and actively acts as an ardent guy.
