Skirts made of yeast
Scientists use bacterial fermentation to create a new fabric that can be used to design a dress.

The costumes of the fermented breweries are the brainchild of Perth genius Gary Cass and Donna Franklin. The research resulted in a unique, cotton-like fabric called nanollose microbial cellulose.

" The bacteria will 'drink' the beer, then convert the beer liquid into a solid yarn." The bodice has no odor and has remarkable flexibility. The yarn has the same chemical properties as cotton yarn. , Cnet quoted Cass.
Perth Gary Cass and Donna Franklin have collaborated and created a wine-fermented dress in 2012. The beer-inspired skirt is inspired by the flowers of the hops.
Cass is continuing to work to improve the durability and flexibility of Nanollose Microbial Cellulose, making it an environmentally friendly alternative to cotton fiber.
