Son La: Detecting a strange bird by Song Da lake

La Van Lien's family, 62 years old, in Loong Dan village (along Song Da lake) in Chieng Bang commune, Quynh Nhai district, Son La province has just caught a strange bird flying from the mountain.

The strange bird was discovered by Mr. Lien.

This is a 7.5kg raptors, 2.8 meters wide wingspan; 0.5 meters high; bird body 0.7 meters long.

Mr. Lien said that on the morning of January 20 (27 December), while the villagers prepared the Lunar New Year, the strange bird flew from the rocky mountain to the pond near his house. Thanks to the help of his relatives, he caught the strange bird in a state of hunger.

According to the elderly in the village, this is the first time they saw this bird. Some people think that it is like a owl that local language calls To Lu Khau.

Ms. La Thi Hoang said that every day the birds eat 1.5kg of meat and still have to feed more vegetables.

Seeing strange birds appear, relatives in the drag to see every day. A local forest ranger said that this could be the vulture bird in the Red Book of unseen animals in northwestern Vietnam.
