According to Prof. Vo Quy, this is a gray-backed pig owl, or white pig owl, whose scientific name is Tyto Alba.

This species of pig owl is found in most cities such as Hanoi, Hai Phong, Nam Dinh, Quang Tri, Hue, Ho Chi Minh City, . and often nest in the corner of abandoned houses or on high walls.

This owl has fur around the eyes, especially the brown front. The white necklace is smooth, sucking the hairs but the brown spots are small in the middle, the half-round is dark brown. The yellow wing hairs are dull with wide stripes and are dotted with pale gray brown.

The golden tail feathers have small spots of light gray brown, wide horizontal stripes of the same color. The color of the dorsal side varies depending on the individual, reclining light gray or yellowish brown. Dark brown eyes, white beak, slightly pinkish base skin, pink-brown feet.
