SpaceX successfully launched 10 Iridium Next satellites into space

On October 9, US space technology space company SpaceX successfully launched 10 satellites into Earth's low orbit from Vandenberg Air Force Base in California.

At 537 am local time, the Falcon 9 rocket carried 10 Iridium Next satellites from telecom company Iridium Communications that was launched from the Space Ship 4E (SLC-4E) Complex at the Base Vandenberg army.

About 7 minutes later, the first floor of the Falcon 9 rocket returned and landed successfully on an unmanned buffer ship in the Pacific. After leaving the ground for 57 minutes, the satellites were merged into Iridium's global telecommunications satellite network at a height of several hundred miles above the ground with a total installation time of about 15 minutes.

According to SpaceX President Elon Musk, the satellites will orbit the Earth in about 90 minutes at a rate of 27.358km / h.

This latest mission is SpaceX's 14th launch this year and the 17th time this company has successfully landed the first level of the Falcon 9. Over time, the company has repeatedly reused the floor. most of the Falcon 9 missiles and are aiming to fully utilize the old missiles to reduce the cost of flying into space.

This is also the third launch of SpaceX's eight launches under the contract to establish the next generation global satellite network with telecommunications company Iridium called Iridium Next, bringing the total number of satellites currently in Earth's orbit up 30. The last two launches took place in January and June last.

Iridium is the only mobile phone and data network with global coverage. The company said it is in the process of completely replacing the world's largest commercial satellite network in Earth's low-level orbit. This is considered to be one of the biggest "technology upgrades" in history.

The Iridium Next satellite network is a low-level orbit (LEO) structure , with complete coverage of the Earth's surface, including oceans, airways and polar regions.

Telecom company Iridium has partnered with Thales Alenia Space to produce, install and test 81 NEXT Iridium satellites, with 75 of these satellites launched by SpaceX between now and mid-2018.
