In order to build a real-time table tennis tracking system for training and training purposes, Thomas Mayer , a student who is studying Design University Schwäbisch Gmünd, used augmented reality technology ( AR) to create this ball table.

Thomas Mayer's ball table can save all the player's information, such as polishing efficiency, beating speed, ball playing habits and a host of other related data. A glossy tabletop is like a virtual interactive screen that allows easy manipulation and monitoring.

Thomas Mayer used a special ball table, installed two Playstation CL-eye cameras, a Full HD projector to track the moving ball during the match and handle the relevant data. The table surface is a set of multiple screens that allows full real-time analysis of information.

Although Thomas Mayer's invention is currently at the experimental stage, the student is confident to quickly improve and commercialize this product to the market.
