Successfully cloned poodle

Korean scientists have successfully cloned a poodle.

The Korea Times reported that the group of scientists from Seoul University, led by Professor Lee Byung Chun, has carried out a female poodle cloning project over the past year. This is the fifth dog in the world to be born by cloning method.

In early 2005, Professor Lee's team successfully cloned Snuppy, the world's first dog born with cloning.

In July 2006, the group also successfully cloned two female wolves of endangered species. However, their success was not recognized because Mr. Lee worked with Mr. Hwang Woo Suk, a scientist known for scandal in the field of stem cells.
