Supply seawater treatment machine to fresh water for fishermen

For the first time in Vietnam, the Institute of Applied Materials Science has successfully researched the seawater treatment machine for fresh water. In the morning of June 2, the first machine of this type was handed over to a fisherman in Da Nang.

Fishermen who received the machine were Mr. Pham Thuan, owner of DNA 90261-TS, Thanh Khe Tay Ward, Thanh Khe District, Da Nang.

According to Ms. Le Khac Hoang Lan, chairman of the research project (under the Vietnam Institute of Science and Technology): "This technology is from the US. There are many countries around the world that have widely applied and served islands. However, with the price of imported goods is very expensive, the operation and maintenance process . is not suitable for Vietnam, so fishermen have never used it.

In December 2007, Da Nang City People's Committee ordered more than 350 million VND with the Vietnam Institute of Science and Technology to conduct this research project. According to Lan, the machine only uses filters that are imported devices of the US, the rest is produced in the country. Technology is complex, but operating simply for fishermen.

Just connect the 2.2kW power supply from the fishing vessel explorer, the machine can operate. Seawater is drawn into the pretreatment tank (coarse filter of moss, sediment, and dirt), then through the membrane system and fresh water without any chemical treatment. After purifying water, there are no bacteria and bacteria, so you can drink immediately. The average capacity of 1.4m3 hourly sea water will produce 300 liters of fresh water, after 7 years of continuous operation, it is necessary to replace the filter.

According to Mr. Pham Thuan, the ship owner will receive the machine, with this equipment, each fishing vessel will save hundreds of million dong for the fishing trip. Normally with each voyage for more than 2 months, an average of 1 vessel must carry 20-30 m3 of fresh water, which is equivalent to 20-30 tons, and is only enough for feeding and drinking of more than 30 fishermen in 2 months .

The installation of seawater filters will save fuel 10-15 liters of oil / day by reducing the load of 20-30 tons of fresh water to carry. In addition, there will be no bulky storage on the compartment where other goods are located. Fishermen not only eat and drink but can bathe in fresh water if they have this equipment when going to sea.

With the current situation of slippage, many miserable fishermen when going to sea will successfully research and put into use this will help fishermen "lighter" . After successful testing, Da Nang will have a plan to assist fishermen in buying this series on offshore fishing vessels.
