Surprising truth: The first person who ordered pizza over 100 years ago was a queen

If sometimes you order pizza and have to wait to see the delivery guy knocking on the door, there's a reason you don't feel uncomfortable here. You are very fortunate not to live in the period of the world's first pizza delivery. It was 1889, when the streets did not have the shadow of cars or motorcycles.

At that time, pizza was the food of the popular class. Because it's cheap, easy to make and easy to eat, it certainly doesn't suit the upper class. But Queen Margherita of the Kingdom of Italy completely changed that.

It is said that, when the wife of King Umberto I was traveling and resting in the city of Naples, the queen was fed up with the "poem rolls" . Therefore, she asked to enjoy a local local delicacy. Since this is Napoli, that dish is no different from pizza.

The royal entourage contacted Raffaele Esposito , the best pizza chef in the area, whom today is venerated as the father of modern pizza. He received orders to deliver pizza to the queen's resting place.

The request that the queen made is also very interesting: the cake must be decorated with all three colors of the flag of the Kingdom of Italy, including white of mozzarella cheese, green of basil leaves and red of tomatoes. So, just waiting at her resting place, the queen was able to enjoy deliciously the first pizza delivered in the world. This cake was later named after the queen - Margherita pizza .

The 1960s were considered the golden age of fast food. This is also the time when modern pizza delivery was born.

By the end of the 20th century, thanks to the advent of the World Wide Web, pizza delivery took a new turn. From 1994 to 1997, the PizzaNet trial service was launched, where people can order food online.

When it first appeared, people thought this website was a joke because it was hard to believe that it was easy to log in, create an application and just wait for the pizza delivery person to knock on the door.
