The decision to use the Goal-Line for the 2014 World Cup was actually decided over a year ago, and FIFA has tested in some tournaments, including the Confederation Cup 2013.

In order to determine the goals accurately, each side of the goal will be equipped with 7 small cameras on the high down to the lime line at different angles. The resulting image is transmitted to the computer system for processing and reconstructing the 3D image. When the goal is scored, the main referee will receive a notification via the Goal Control smartphone on hand. Everything will happen in the blink of an eye and the referee will be able to be confident with his decision.
