According to experts, Phelps has the perfect body to swim and most of his competitors. They are usually tall, strong, long arms, longer body than average and relatively short legs.

In the last decade, athletes have focused on sports that they have the ideal body to play, said Michael Joyner, the world's leading figure and body expert.

According to Joyner, the best people in some sports have similar body sizes. We can see this when we observe athletes, rowers and swimmers like Phelps.

Many people believe that Phelps lung capacity is twice as big as normal people while swimming. However, H. Richard Weiner, a doctor who specializes in treating sports athletes at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, USA, said the claim was completely baseless.

Weiner explains on the Scientific American page that physical advantages are not enough to be excellent athletes. Athletes need to have both talent and technique.

During his time at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games, Phelps always focused on the highest level, trying his best and competing fairly. These are important personality traits that help create the Olympic champion.
