Barbie, the name of a dog like Jack Rusell (UK), will be awarded a brave medal by the Royal Animal Crime Prevention Association (RSPCA) for rescuing its owner, Telegraph reported.
In March, Rosemary Field, Barbie's owner, was sleeping at home in the city of Bristol when the night light fell on the bed. The fire of the lamp quickly caught on the blanket, cushioned and caught fire.
Initially, when Barbie was awakened, the 72-year-old woman chased it. But the second time, she woke up and found the fire burning. After pouring water to put out the fire, she called the fire brigade. A firefighter at the fire told Mrs. Field that Barbie had saved her life.
Eddie Grinham, RSPCA's Briston manager, said he was impressed by how Barbie told his employer about the dangerous incident.
"This is a strange story about the close relationship between dog and owner. When he sees danger, the dog does not run away but tries to pull the owner out with it. I think Barbie should be rewarded. because of brave action , 'he said.
