A new aircraft design could carry passengers nearly 12 times faster than the Concorde, allowing it to travel from the UK to the United States in a very short time.

Antipode is the new work of Canadian engineer, Charles Bombardier, following the idea of Skreemr, a supersonic aircraft that can fly at 12,348km / h using a magnetic field launcher for takeoff and acceleration. By liquid oxygen rockets.

The design of the Antipode is aimed at solving problems with the Skreemr aircraft , such as extreme temperatures due to friction with air and large explosions emitted on the ground when the plane breaks the sound barrier.

To overcome these problems, the supersonic aircraft uses an aerodynamic technique called the Long Penetration Mode (LPM) , which guides the air along the plane through the gap in the front to the wing and the wing. fly. There, the air is cooled and the noise eliminated.

However, Antipode is just an idea on the design table and there are no specific plans to make it into reality.
