The International Space Station will have a new toilet
This is a new achievement for the space exploration industry when it is possible to reuse wastewater and prevent bacteria from spreading out in space.
The new toilet is a simple name for the Global Waste Management System (UWMS) , which will be put to use on the International Space Station (ISS) later this year.
This toilet is improved in terms of style, with the bar for astronauts to hook their toes. Not only does the astronaut have a more comfortable "clearance", it is also being tested and prepared for further exploration trips like Mars in the future.
UWMS ensures that no human waste is left in space, limiting the risk of infecting other planets. In fact, during the Apollo 11 era, American astronauts left 96 bags of human excrement on the surface of the Moon. Many scientists believe that humanity needs to come back to clean up "Ms. Hang".
According to NASA, the new toilet can be used as early as this fall, but they have yet to choose the appropriate spacecraft to bring the new system into space.

Space travel in the long run will create a lot of waste. NASA estimates that it needs to process about 272kg of waste during the Mars expedition.
"Our goal in the future is to dry out the waste, make them stop microbiological activities inside and reuse the wastewater. In addition, reducing the amount of construction materials for toilets is also essential. for a long-term exploration mission , " said a NASA spokesman.
Current toilets on the ISS date back to the 1990s. In the past, it was difficult for astronauts to excrete in space, especially for female astronauts.
In February 2019, Russian media reported that the ISS toilet was broken, spilling about 4 liters of waste. The travelers then had to clean up with towels.
