The Macomb County Public Works Authority (MCPWO) said that the Lakeshore Inspector sewer in Michigan State, USA, was covered by a block of fat over 30 meters long, UPI reported on September 12. This is the largest fat block ever discovered in sewer at Macomb County.
This object is made up of fat, oil, fat, mixed with other things that humans emit . "Simply put, this fat mass is horrible," commented Candice Miller, Macomb County public works representative.
"However, this provides an opportunity to talk to people about the importance of limiting things that are dropped into the sewer. This limitation is set by individuals and restaurants that pour grease or other substances. Similar to the sewer, we want to change that behavior, " she added.
Authorities are implementing an educational program to prevent such lumps of fat from forming in the future.
