Canadian man Anton Pilipa has been missing since 2012, has traveled through many countries with bare feet, recently found in the Amazon jungle.

"I realize that he is not Brazilian like us , " said policewoman Helenice. "He said he was Canadian, so we figured out how to contact his family."

With the help of many international organizations and embassies, Helenice was able to track the whereabouts of the wandering man and learned that this was Anton Pilipa, who had been missing five years ago. Brazilian police then contacted Anton's family. After finding out that his brother, Stefan, his brother, was "very shocked".

"I told myself that he was no more but in my heart I didn't expect it to happen. I was very shocked."

Anton traveled through at least 10 countries from Canada, crossing the United States, Mexico, Guatemala, Costa Rica, Panama, Colombia, Venezuela, Argentina before arriving in Brazil, where he was found without bringing a passport and carrying only some clothes.

Anton said he walked for a long time in the past five years, sometimes hitchhiking by a passerby or smuggling. Anton said he relies on picked fruits, looks for food and clothes in the trash and thanks to the generosity of strangers.

"I never felt lonely" - Anton shared. "I have had a lot of thoughts over the years, living a simple life and not needing too many things."

"I know that I am very lucky to survive, very fortunate to be able to return to my family," Anton added.
