The oven distilled clean water thanks to the sunlight

Stemming from concerns about a shortage of clean water in developing countries as well as a desire to create a device to purify salt water into inexpensive freshwater, designer Gabriele Diamantin invented a water distillation furnace. my name is Eliodomestico.

Eliodomestico's design is quite simple, including 2 ceramic pots stacked on top of each other, so the local ceramic workers can do it. The mechanism of operation of this furnace is like a coffee pot to reverse. In it, the ceramic pot on the top is black (to increase heat absorption from the sun) and is the place to store salt water.

When the sun warms this pot, water evaporates naturally. When the pressure increased, the steam was forced into a tube leading to the second pot below and condensed into water flowing into another pot placed inside the second basin. In particular, the bottom of the pot The water is concave, so users can wear it on their heads when transporting, a popular transport type in South Asian countries, such as India.

Currently, Eliodomestico costs about 50 USD (more than 1 million VND) and can produce about 5 liters of clean water every day without additional operating costs.
