The tiny piece of private land is only 0.32m2 wide in the US city
Despite being only 0.32m 2 wide and in the middle of the road, the triangular piece of land located in the southwest corner of Christopher Street and the 7th Avenue of New York City is still impregnable, including the government. America could not touch.
Located on the southwest corner of Christopher Street and the 7th avenue, right in front of Village Cigars is a small triangular piece of land with the inscription "This land is Hess's property and it has never been donated. for public purposes ".
The small triangle-shaped piece of land at first looks nothing special but it is privately owned and no one has the right to intrude without the owner's consent.
Previously, this land was originally part of David Hess's 5-storey Voorhis apartment building. By 1990, the city decided to build a new subway line and expand the street. As a result, nearly 300 houses in the area have been demolished, and the Voorhis apartment building is no exception.
Special land area is located.
However, when the machine completed all the demolition, Mr. David Hess discovered the tiny piece of land left on his old ground. It is a triangle with a 65cm long bottom and two 70cm long sides. It seems that during the survey, the city government had a bit of confusion leading to forgetting this particular land.
On it was engraved with the words "This land is Hess's property and it has never been donated for public purposes".
Soon after realizing the mistake, the New York City government sent a notice to Mr. Hess asking to hand over the piece to the city. However, Mr. Hess refused.
In order to express his opinion, in 1922, Mr. Hess also tiled the land, then, carved the words that tourists can see as they are now.
Many tourists have come to this area to take photos when they have the opportunity to visit New York City.
In 1938, this land was sold to a nearby cigar shop for $ 1,000. So far, this triangular piece of land is still considered the smallest piece of private land in New York City . That means no one has the right to violate this area without the owner's consent.
