The US urgently withdraws rooms from the solar storm

The US government is preparing to deal with a solar storm, which could devastate electricity networks around the world for months.

America prepares to deal with the solar storm

The dangerous outbreaks of the sun stem from the accumulation of magnetic energy , which releases streams of radiation throughout the solar system. Although there is always a steady stream of particles from the sun attacking planets in the solar system, solar storms will emit much more powerful radiation and particles.

These particles and radiation streams vary in frequency, depending on the activity of the sun, and often zoom in directions away from the Earth. However, every 100 years or so, the massive outbreaks of the sun are expected to threaten our planet.

Massive electromagnetic pulses from the sun's explosion can destroy the electricity network.

The typhoon from the most intense sun recently attacked Earth in 1859, causing phone lines to explode, causing fires in several post offices and blackouts across Europe and North America. In a much more technologically developed world of technology, experts warn, impacts can be much more serious.

Massive electromagnetic pulses from the outbreaks of the sun can destroy the electricity network, ending the benefits of modern civilization such as mobile phones, credit cards and the Internet . In the United States alone, researchers from the National Academy of Sciences estimated the loss to the economy could reach $ 2,600 billion.

According to experts, the power outage after an intense solar storm can last for months or even longer if it destroys transformers.

In 2012, a terrible solar storm once approached very close but grazed Earth's orbit, without attacking our planet. With a guess about 12% of the risk of a similar solar storm that could happen in 2022, the White House is preparing a plan to be ready to respond.

"Frankly, this could be one of the most serious natural disasters that the United States and most of the world are likely to face," said space weather consultant John Kappenman.

Predictors currently only have a warning time of about 15 - 60 minutes before a serious incident.

John P. Holdren, the US president's assistant on science and technology itself, acknowledges that solar storms are a major challenge as well as a real threat. US authorities are rushing to complete a six-step countermeasure strategy and action plan, including setting a standard to accurately measure the threat level of incidents, similar to the scale Large Richter used for earthquakes, as well as focus on improving forecasting technologies.

One of the major threats of space weather is that predictors currently only have a warning time of about 15 to 60 minutes before a serious incident. The prevention plan will allow new satellites in space and new ground-based technologies to provide a more appropriate warning about disaster.

The US authorities will also promote research into the potential effects of incidents on the country's essential infrastructure, to allow the government to provide effective response and recovery plans. Schools, academies, government agencies, media, insurance industry, non-profit organizations and the private sector will all participate in the rescue plan if the worst happens.
